Winemaker Notes
This year’s rose is a blend of three different rose picks – one for each of the three Rhone varieties that
make up the final blend. All of the fruit was sent directly to the press and pressed as whole clusters
right up to the point of bitterness. Fermentations for the three separate grapes (Counoise, Grenache
and Cisault) happened separately, but similarly at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Upon
completion of alcoholic fermentation, all of the wine was sulfured to prevent any malolactic
fermentation and aged in neutral French oak barrels. In early March these barrels were blended into
one tank, treated for both heat and cold stability, and filtered to achieve the crystal-clear result in the
bottle. This wine was bottled in late March of 2022 and is intended to be drunk while young and fresh.
